Yamamoto Shūya
山本修也
Born in Tokyo, Yamamoto Shūya studied Ikuta-ryū koto under his mother,Yamamoto Utashito, from an early age. Graduated from the Department of Traditional Japanese Music, Faculty of Music, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1995. Graduated from the 41st NHK Traditional Music Technicians Training Program. Was a member of the Shoha Traditional Music Society, a member of the Japan Sankyoku Association, and a member of the Morinokai. Also a composer.
