Joseph Myōshin (妙心) Sanger is an English shakuhachi player and composer living in Hiroshima, Japan. He has been studying shakuhachi for many years under Mende Ryūzan, who is a master of both the Tozan-ryū repertoire as well as the Yokoyama-style Kinko-ryū honkyoku. Myōshin’s teacher has awarded him both the shihan (teacher) and dai-shihan (master teacher) certificates.
