Shakuhachi

Born in Saga Prefecture in 1988, Aoki Rindō began learning Kinko-ryū shakuhachi at the age of 15, and studied under Tokumaru Jūmei from the age of 17.
In 2011 she participated in the Tokumaru Jūmei Shakuhachi Concert India Shakuhachi Pilgrimage, performing in New Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai. She was awarded the Excellence Award in the Japanese Music Category at the Ichikawa City Newcomer Competition in 2012, and in 2013 participated in the International Conservatory Week Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia, performing at the St. Petersburg Conservatory.
In 2015 Rindō was given the Encouragement Award at the 21st "Hase Kengyō Kumamoto Japanese Music Competition."
She graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Japanese Music, majoring in shakuhachi, and completed her master's course at the same university.
Aoki Rindō is a member of the Japan Sankyoku Association and the Kinko-ryū Gadō-kai.
